Loose Tooth

Mama, Mama, Mama.................I have a loose tooth!!!!!!!!!!!
Could you please tell the tooth fairy that I want a toy instead of coins?
And Mama.....please don't let Angel get the Tooth Fairy!!!!!!

I can't believe that my baby already has a loose tooth :(
The concern about Angel getting the Tooth Fairy is a result of the live bird she brought into the house yesterday morning. Yes......."live bird" and yes.....Mama had to catch it and get it back outside. This was followed up with a rather large grasshopper that Daddy caught her trying to bring in the same afternoon. Maybe the cat needs more fiber in her diet.

Sleep over :(

The long awaited sleep over was not what Kaitlyn thought it would be. She wants no part of sleep overs at this time. She got woke up at midnight and was up until 5:30. She was upset because she wasn't at home and mommy wasn't there. When mommy picked her up she was a major crab the whole ride home. As soon as she was home and had her apple juice, all was right in the world again.

That's okay sweet pea......mommy slept in your bed all night with the phone waiting for a call to come and get you.

The Perspective of a Five year old

This was a difficult week for mama. A very dear friend died suddenly at work on Wednesday. This person was also a "buddy" of Kaitlyn's. When she was about 2 yrs old, she met him at my work. She misunderstood when I told her that he was grouchy and ever since he has been known as "Ouchy". He loved when she called him this. He wasn't real big on kids - except for Kaitlyn.

On Wednesday, Kaitlyn came home and looked at me and asked, "Mama, why do you have tearins in your eyes?" I told her, "Because Ouchy went to heaven today." I thought she would be very upset, but she just got all excited and said, "Mama....Ouchy is probably playing with Gizmo!" I instantly felt much better.

The next day I told several people at work the story of Kaitlyn's view on Ouchy's death. Each of them felt better because of her perspective.

Sweet Pea.....you may only be 5 years old, but you have helped a whole lot of people get through a very difficult time. Thank you so much!!

Like Mommy

Kaitlyn's birthday was great! Everyone had a lot of fun - including the adults who decided to race through the obstacle course and climb on all the equipment. We now have a new "boyfriend" picture since her little boyfriend of 2 years was at the party.

We went to a Jeep Owner's appreciation dinner on her actual birthday. It was a pretty good meal. The talking was nice and short. The highlight of the evening were the raffle drawings. Daddy won a jeep hat. Momma won a jeep t-shirt. Kaitlyn won an "IPOD SHUFFLE"!!!!!!! She got so excited because now she is "just like momma!!" Then she asks me "Can I have your extra cover so we can be the same-same?"

The True Blond

Please explain to me how such an intelligent child can be such a little ding-dong!!! Yesterday, Kaitlyn was throwing something in the kitchen garbage. (This particular garbage can opens by stepping on a foot pedal at the base. This child uses this can several times a day and has been doing so for a very long time.) She starts yelling at us that she needs help because her hand is stuck. I come running out of the bedroom to find her with her hand in the garbage can. I just started laughing and told her to step on the pedal and open it up "GOOFY"!!!! Mark comes out to see what's going on and just shakes his head and walks away. She has now been informed that we are going to tease her about this for a very long time.

Birthday Party Trio

The plans for Kaitlyn's 5Th birthday party have been finalized. The invitations have all been delivered. A Princess cake will be ordered. There will be princess plates for the girls and spider man plates for the boys. However, before we even get to her party, there are 2 other parties the weekend before (1 gymnastics and 1 swim party). So - now we have purchased the presents for the others, Daddy will take her to the gymnastic birthday party & Mommy will get her to the pool party. I think I need a nap just thinking about the next 2 weekend's activities!!!

The day we delivered the invitations, we received 2 RSVP's and Kaitlyn burst into tears because everybody else hadn't called. (Good God child - they haven't even had time to get home from work yet!!!) "Oh.....I can't believe I'm so silly!" Five minutes later - "Do you think their home yet?" This is gonna be a very long 2 weeks until this party ;) .

More homework please...

Kaitlyn just can't seem too get enough homework. I finally bought her a kindergarten workbook to keep her occupied. She gets so excited that shes sailing through it. She has also started ballet at school and is constantly dancing around the house.

The child was so excited about mommy's birthday this past weekend that she kept singing "Happy Birthday" everywhere we went. I couldn't really get upset with her for this. I did, however, get just a bit tired of her announcing my age to every single person she talked to. (The Chiropractor, cashiers at Target & Safeway, restaurant waitress & pretty much anyone who glanced her way!!!!!)
